Dr. Sudhir U is a Consultant Neonatologist and Paediatrician with over 10 years of experience in newborn and child healthcare. He has extensive experience in Level III NICUs in Bengaluru, caring for newborns, infants and children, with a special focus on high-risk and extremely premature babies.
He completed his MBBS from Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, followed by MD in Paediatrics from N.S.C.B. Medical College, Jabalpur. He subsequently completed a Fellowship in Perinatal Medicine – Neonatology at St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru, along with PGPN in Paediatric Nutrition from Boston University and MRCPCH from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK.
Professional Experience
Dr. Sudhir has worked with leading hospitals in Bengaluru, including Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Electronic City, Motherhood Hospital and St. John’s Hospital. His experience includes managing critically ill newborns, extremely preterm babies and high-risk neonates requiring advanced intensive care.
His areas of expertise include advanced neonatal ventilation, high-frequency ventilation, therapeutic cooling, inhaled nitric oxide, bedside ultrasonography, neonatal intensive care, infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship. He has also contributed to NICU setup and protocol development and has experience training residents and nurses in neonatal care.
A significant part of his practice involves the long-term follow-up of high-risk and premature babies, monitoring their growth and neurodevelopment from the newborn period through childhood.

Dr. Sudhir has been consulting at Little’s Clinic since 2024, providing evening consultations for children and families. His paediatric practice includes childhood illnesses and infections, vaccinations, nutritional guidance, and monitoring of growth and development.
